We were out today at a friend’s house for their house warming. I’m glad that the husband offered to pick us up (me and my son) so I don’t have to worry driving at night though. Although I’m already used driving at night but for some reason I try to avoid it especially now that I'm 7months pregnant. I supposed my sense of balance and attentiveness is not like it used to be or maybe it’s what you called “just being lazy”. Well whatever it is I’m just so glad I have accepted his offer though it’s a pretty far of a drive for him.

The house was really nice, though he said that they were already the third owner of the said property but it was very well maintained. Plus it was located on a hill so it’s overlooking the beautiful city of Reno. Few years ago people usually pays extra amount of money to get a good view of the city but base on what the couple have told me I think it was really a bargain price. Not even half on what it originally cost and that was only 5years ago.

I’ve read on an article awhile back that during this tough economic times movie theaters are quite doing well and so are the thrift stores. People think that they always find good buys on this stores which is actually true most of the time.

Yosemite Falls

My son’s first time visit to Yosemite National Park was great. Though the weather was so hot but that didn’t stop him from having so much fun also. It’s almost end of June already when we visited the park so I didn’t expect that there still going to be waterfalls. But the guy on the Mexican restaurant where we bought our lunch told us that they had so much snow last winter that is why there is still water falls on the park. Great hotel for the price

Well our one week vacation to Anaheim California went really well. It's short but everything really went well and we had so much fun. It was actually our first family vacation since we had our son. Though we went to Sacramento few months ago and stayed in one of their nice hotel for one night, but i dont really consider it as a vacation.

Anyway it was a long trip, 10hours drive with a little one inside sometimes it can be crazy but our little one did a good job. In Staybridge hotel place was really nice. Staff was really accomodating, our room was of decent size and it comes with a full size kitchen. I'ts nice, clean and family friendly. Plus whats nice about it is that i dont have to worry about feeding my son breakfast in the morning because they offer free breakfast. Not all hotels do that, i think it has alot to do with the economy plus the competition among the surrounding hotels on the area. The weather was perfectly nice in the last few days here in Fernley but today is the exact opposite of it. I was even excited to plant my 4 remaining shrubs today but because of the weather conditions I guess I will just have to postpone it and do it again some other day.

We went to a friend’s house yesterday to pick up something (of which I’m not going to mention nalang ok). This lady friend of mine called me few days ago and said that it will be ready by Tuesday for pick-up. I got lazy that Tuesday and besides we were already heading out for a walk when she called and reminded me again. I apologized and told her that I’ll be there Wednesday which I did. So the day came and pick up the stuff and she also gave me a pickled pepper. Grown from her garden last year before winter came. She was already cooking chicken adobo when we arrived so she invited us to stay for lunch. Her chicken adobo was so delicious, cooked differently and I just love it. My son who sometimes can be picky when it comes to food ate a lot that time. I knew she’s a good cook and her husband agrees with me too.

Last Friday was very busy for us we were out pretty much for 12hours, we left at quarter to 11am then arrive home at midnight. We started our day with a trip to the doctors office. My son is due for his immunization and thank God this time he only need one shot. It used to be 3 injections though but now its only Dtap so that was kind of relief on our part. Plus we also had to see his other doctor for his allergies but apparently we didn’t have good news for that. My son is allergic to peanuts, shrimp and roast beef (cold cut meat) the doctor try to run a test again yesterday at his back for the roast beef to see if he already out-grow it or not. But the result came out to be positive so will test again in a few months. Im not really worried though because its only cold cut meat and not beef in general. We got back home very late last night at 12:30 am I believed. It was just a long day for us but I’m glad it’s over now. Saturday evening a man whom my husband has been talking to for all the negotiations came to the house to do what he came here to do. And after everything has been settled they left and it was just a big relief on our part though I was a little bit sad because we had a lot of memories with that car. Im supposed to have a dental appointment last tuesday, I've confirmed it already monday afternoon after coming back from Reno. When all of a sudden I realized that I can't go on like this, bringing my 16month old son to the dental office. He's a big boy now and an explorer kinda thing and i dont think he can stand waiting for me for hours. So i decided to switch dental care that are open every fridays. My husbands days off from work is Fridays and Saturdays so it would only make sense if I schedule appointments on Fridays the only problems is my dentist office is close on Friday. But thank God I was able to find a dental office that is open on Fridays and I was able to get my self in, so in just a matter of 2weeks I will be with a new dentist already.

One of my grandmothers believed when she was still alive and has been a practice to my family is to put coins in your pocket or wear something that has circles in it at New Years Eve so you will have money all the time accordingly. And not only that, we try to make a lot of noise as much as we can to drive bad spirits away too and we don’t spend any money on New Year’s Day January 1. This are just some of the many belief we had in our family but I’m sorry to say that I don’t do most of this anymore, except for the part where you put coins in your pocket who knows right hehehehe?

Yesterday December 26 is the day after Christmas and we all know that it’s also one of the days to shop for good buys. So we started early at 9:30 a.m (is this early or what? For me it is) were on our way to Reno already. So our first stop was Kohl’s, because they’re giving an extra 10% off from your purchase because they’re having an early power hours or something and it’s only up to 1 pm. Well we are a big fan of kohl’s as some of you already knew plus the extra percent off so that’s definitely our first stop. Unfortunately the store is close due to power outage. So we go ahead and went to JC Penny, and all their Christmas stuff is 75% off already plus additional $10.00 off if you purchased $50.00 or more and %15 off for purchased of $75.00. That was pretty neat, so we save a lot yesterday and were good to go again for next Christmas. That was a money well spent yesterday.

I was browsing on some of the photos that I took back home in the Philippines during our 6weeks vacation. There are thousands of them as a matter of fact and that doesn’t include videos by the way, because I brought two digital camera’s with me. I was just going to bring one which is the canon... but that camera has been with me for more than 2years now, I love that camera but the battery doesn’t work the way it used to and I’m just afraid I wont be able to take a lot of pictures especially during my sons Christening and birthday party. And I didn’t regret bringing two cameras even though my carryon bag that time was already very heavy. Anyway what are vacations for if you won’t have a lot of pictures right?

My son was afraid of Santa

I took a picture of my 15months old son who’s so afraid of Santa Clause when I brought him to where hubby work. He wasnt able to sit on Santa's Lap anymore for he started crying the moment he sees santa's face. Paul was even holding him already and sat beside santa but he woudn't look at santa's face. Silver Legacy Resort and Casino actually organized a Christmas party for their employee’s kids. Though my hubby didn’t have any clue about it that’s why he called me to the last minutes. Good thing at least its not snowing that time so I was able to drive us to where he worked. So hopefuly next year it will be a different story already, will see...

Thunder Valley Casino

Our stay in courtyard hotel in Roseville California was really nice, service was good and the accomodation was really great and part of the package that we got comes with a free breakfast so its really nice. And we all had a good night sleep last Friday for we are all tired from the travel and store hopping. Hubby found a good buy in the Performance Bicycle Store that time because they are having a sale. That Friday night we also went to Thunder Valley Casino, well not to gamble my dear readers but to check out the place. Its actually a pretty big casino and their hotel is still under construction. Their parking lot is huge, you have to take a bus to bring you to the casino floor. But we didn’t stay long for its getting late and were all tired from our travel.

I have a friend who is now living in Florida, they’ve been there for a few months now and havent totally settled in yet. Well that’s because they have a 4years old son and a 1year old baby girl. Though they both like the area where they’re living in right now, sometimes she can’t help but wonder about the safety of her family. I totally understand where its coming from since I also have a 14months old son. Being in a new place can sometimes be harsh specially if you doesn’t really know who your neighbors are. Well I think as a friend, I can only listened to her that time and didn’t really know what to do and say to her. Overwhelmed by the beautiful tree

Oh my God, I can’t believe its only 17more days to go before that big day. We finally finished decorating our tree days ago and our little one seems very excited about it. Every time we are on the kitchen table and I’ll asked him where the tree is, he’ll always look towards the direction of the tree and point at it and say “tree”. And that is what’s always happening every time we go out and he sees a tree, hell point at it and utters the word “tree”. I supposed it fascinates him to see a Christmas tree with all those lights and colorful ornaments hanging on the tree and for him its just overwhelming. That is why its just amazing to see how much he had grown now. I’m sure this Christmas is going to be a great one for us especially with our little one around.

Yes indeed, I started decorating our Christmas tree since Saturday while my boys went to wal-mart for their father and son bonding. It took me awhile to finished decorating the tree than usual but at least I was able to manage it. Were actually a little bit behind when it comes to putting our tree but I guest that’s understandable especially when you have a little tot running around.

My week seems to be pretty interesting. I’ve been having a problem with my computer for quite a while now. Every time I turned on my computer, unwanted pop-ups are always popping out. Saying that my computer has been infected blah…blah…blah… I didn’t really pay attention to it for I thought it only wanted me to sign-up to that anti-virus program which I don’t need one anyway. So this has been going on for weeks now, until the other night it automatically shots-off and did its recovery thing, the next thing I knew was all my files, pictures and programs that has been installed for 3years now are all gone. For short I was like using a newly bought computer and installing it for the first time, so you could just imagine the few pre installed programs that where there. I was like going back to a stone-age era. 3years of my computer life was there and all of a sudden; nothing!!! The worst thing is that, I can’t sign in to social spark now and I don’t know what to do. Anybody can make a suggestion? I would really appreciate it.

And for those of you who will have company later on for your thanksgiving dinner, well enjoy your sumptuous meal and lets all be thankful for all the blessings that god has given to us. Well last Friday was my day, you know why? That’s because we went to Seafood City. I’ve heard a lot of things about seafood city, too bad we didn’t have it here in Reno. So since last Thursday was our anniversary and hubby had the Friday and Saturday off so we decided to go to Sacramento. Yes it is, though it only seems yesterday when we both took our wedding vow. Wow time flies so fast. At noon today hubby called and asked me if I wanted to have dinner with him in Reno, so I said yes. But an hour later I changed my mind so I called him back. I thought it would be nice just to stay here in town for our dinner rather than driving 40miles back and forth. And besides were planning to go to Sacramento tomorrow so I wanted him to have a good night rest. And yes indeed, that was actually a good decision and good for me because I was able to ask the ladies at the Chinese Buffet if I can leave some Mary Kay Brochure with them and they said “yes” .

His First Day on Class Finally...

Got a lot of stuff done yesterday and I was so happy with that, but what really excites me the most was my sons first day in a class. He had fun yesterday at our local Library, but not because he had fun listening to the story but he was just so excited himself too to see a lot of kids around. He started going around and trying to talk to the kids which are way older than him. Other than that we also went outside to pick up some dry leaves for their art project. Where you have to put the leaf underneath the paper and start coloring the paper to reveal the roots of the leaves. So I think it’s a pretty cool place to be for your little ones. You may think that since its been a month now after our long PI vacation that we were finally able to settle in and really moving on. Yes and no is my answer, yes because at least out suitcases are back to where it should belong now and clothes were all back at the closet. Yes because our son is already sleeping at night though it’s a little bit late compared before. My Baby Is Going To A Class

I’m excited for my baby will be attending a class at our local library every Tuesday for 1hour. I think it will be a good preparation for him especially if were already to send him to school at age 3 I believed. My husband hobby was to collect and repair good quality bicycles and sells it to people. But now he’s thinking of selling it also on eBay. He actually has some good bicycles that is just sitting on the garage right now. He already set up an account on eBay and I’m pretty sure anytime now that he will start posting it online. And not only that, we are trying to get rid on one of our vehicle, hubby already made a deal with it to his common friend which is actually a very good one though but for whatever reason, the deal didn’t go through. So now we are actually going to try selling it on eBay. He’s just a little bit engaged from work right now, but I’m sure it won’t be for long anymore. I myself would also want to try my luck on eBay. Since we have some pretty good amount of stuff that wasn’t really used. We also keep finding good stuff with a great deal at the store but there’s just no room to store them anymore. Was So Worried...

Oh man, I though allergy was just a simple thing for kids and adult, where face will turn red and they will start itching. Apparently there still more into it. I brought my son to the Urgent Care today for a food allergy with “Peanut Butter” . I gave him Reese’s Puff with peanut butter for a snack; he had a break in right away and started scratching his face. I got worried so I called his pediatricians nurse and eventually brought him to Urgent Care just to be sure. I though having an allergic reaction to food is nothing really to worry about, but I was wrong because according to the doctor and even the nurse that I talked to, that if my son will have a hard time breathing I should call 911 right away. That is really something you have to take seriously. That’s why good bye peanut butter…

Yes I'm happy and relieved that Philippine Airlines has added a new flight schedule for Zamboanga City. It used to be one flight in the morning at 5:00 am departure and 1 flight in the afternoon at 5:50pm. My cousin who happens to be in manila right now, mentioned that his flight going to Zamboanga City is at 10:00 am. I was a little bit confused by that for a moment because I know that flight schedule doesn’t exist. So I checked the flight schedules from manila to Zamboanga at Philippine Airlines official website and he proved me wrong. Now I don’t have to worry about staying at the airport for 10hours before my next flight. Plus I’m going to have a companion going to Zamboanga from Manila so that’s kind of nice ha? Somebody’s going to baby sit my baby during the entire flight going to my city.

Our trip is really getting closer and closer, and I’m a little bit busy now. I started putting all the stuff together that we will need for our 6 weeks vacation few weeks ago. But finally last night, we were able to get into it at last, meaning 1 luggage is already ready and 1 more to go. Not to mention the 2 carry on bag, which we will also be bringing with us. My never ending packing is really starting to get into my nerve now, but I need to really get serious about it, this is what usually happens I think when you have a baby with you, and you just want to make sure you got everything right for its really going to be a very long and tiring trip. Well my sister in-law from Idaho together with her husband and niece came last Friday to visit us since its holiday today for its Labor day. Anyway they arrived Friday noontime and we all had lunch. I just made pizza for I didn’t know what time are they exactly coming in. I already marinated some Pork loin ready to bake but just wasn’t able to get into it. Anyhow, we all went to Virginia City after lunch which is about 45minutes drive from our house. I’ve been there 3times already before but didn’t noticed that kind of crowd, last Saturday was just so busy, I think its because of the 3days weekend also. Anyway we all had a great time and I had fun taking picture hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we did.

If the word seafood popped up in my mind, or if somebody just happened to mentioned that word to me, I can’t help but wonder the different recipes that I knew and learned from my grandmother. I even remember one of my most memorable trip back home, when we were cooking shrimp on Saturday morning, As I put the shrimp in my wok, we started laughing for the shrimp started jumping out from my wok because its still alive and I'm afraid my wok will end up empty. Well I read an article as I was browsing online about the benefits of Domestic Seafood. It says that Domestic seafood is an excellent source of protein, is low in fat and sodium and contains other vitamins and minerals that are important for good health. Thats pretty neat ha? Infact, a recent study from the Harvard School of Public Health found that even modest consumption of fish reduces risk of coronary death by 36 percent. This is significant, because heart disease is the main cause of death among Americans.

I think with seafoods, you will never go wrong with it. I even have my favorite seafood recipe, well at least one of my many favorites. Its called “camaron con gata” (shrimp with coconut milk) it’s not just any kind of coconut milk, but the thick and creamy like coconut sauce cook into perfection hmmm mouth watering. My friend who now lives at the east coast still manage to cook this kind of recipe and since seafood is very much abundant on her place now, because they live near the water so she can just cook this fabulous recipe anytime she wants.

And speaking of seafood recipe, the Great American Seafood cook off website is actually hosting a recipe contest. All you have to do is vote and enter and you might have the chance to win a trip to New Orleans. I did the same thing because I have never been to that area and would love to visit because of their rich history but who know this might be my chance. When I joined the contest I even vote for the best recipe that I think, and its called Louisiana Shrimp and Andouille Cassoulet, it’s a Louisiana Shrimp and Andouille sausage smothered in a white bean casserole from Chef Brian Landry of Louisiana . It looks so yummy though the rest of the 4 recipe is also a winner. That’s what I’ve been telling you, with seafood it’s hard to go wrong with it. I choose this recipe, because not just that it’s in fact a shrimp but there’s also a sausage in it and I think it’s a perfect pair the sausage and shrimp just complements each other. If ever im going to do this kind of recipe, I will pretty much used the same ingredients but exept for the kidney/cannelloni beans, I’m not a big fan of beans and I hope it wont affect the taste of it.

Hubby was into bike racing few years ago especially when he still lived in New Jersey, he love that kind of sport. But when he moved here to Nevada, he got so busy and didn’t have the chance to race anymore. But he stills in fact a big fan and will always be a big fan of bike racing. Every year they always have a Tour de Nez , whether it’s in Reno, Truckee or Lake Tahoe he always make it a point to be able to go and watched the said event, at least 2 out of 3 though.

But anyway, because of his passion when it comes to bike racing and other bike race paraphernalia, he decided to make a business out of it. It just started as a hobby and now people are actually buying bikes from him (second hand bikes). Yesterday was my son’s immunization from the travel clinic. He only had hepatitis-A immunization for that’s the only immunization he is qualified for now, aside from the immunizations administered by his pediatrician and some pills or tablets that we will be bringing with us. I thought his going to cry like he usually does, but he surprised me yesterday, he did really good, and I’m so proud of him. My husband loves to call him little man, and now after what happened yesterday from his immunization, it makes me think, that my baby is really growing up now, and he is indeed a little man now. Time flies so fast, I’m just lucky I was able to spend a lot of time with my baby for they grow so fast. I’m sure not all mothers were given this opportunity, not here.

Ha! At last, after a few months of blogging, setting pay pal account though its not that hard, adding a bank account, inquiring back and forth at last its all over and its all worth the wait now. Because finally I was able to treat my 2boys, (hubby and son) to a Chinese buffet here in our town and also use the money to bought some stuff at the dollar store. I remember being in college and at the same time working, gave me some exposure to what we called “ The men’s world “. Got some admirers who would keep asking for my name, what time do I go out from school and work, or is it ok if they come and see me. Those were just some of the questions. Now, looking back it always bring smile on my face and with that I think I should say I was able to achieve my victory hair.

Since I will be going home to my country next month, part of my preparation is to have a good battery that will last. Because I’m pretty sure that this is going to be a never ending picture taking, just like what I said before that I am a pictuholic. Well I seldom go home; as a matter of fact this will be my first time to go home after almost 4 long years of being here in the U.S. Well it’s all worth the wait and besides I will bring my baby with me so that will be exciting. But anyway back to my preparation kind of thing, I purchased an extra battery for my Canon SD 600 digital cam, my digital cam will be 2years already this coming November so as expected battery doesnt worked the way it used to be already. So I purchased an extra one just in case, besides I didn’t spend a penny on it for I used our Amazon gift card and it is really a good price. So I think I got that part covered already.

Carpal tunnel, well I did really experienced this when I was pregnant, especially during my last few months of pregnancy, can’t exactly remember what month did it started though. Pain in my two hands is horrible, especially in the morning, I couldn’t close my hand, and it takes me few minutes to be able to close it a little bit and my hand look sore. Since I wasn’t blogging yet when I was pregnant (didn’t know about it yet) but I’m always on the computer, computer is like my best friend, it keeps me connected to the world. I told my Obstetrician about my problem and if there’s a carpal tunnel relief and the first thing he asked me was “are you always on the computer?” well what more could I say, I know I was having a hard time typing and it makes it worse but I keep on doing it. I even had a problem with house chores, its not that I don’t want to do it, even though I had some lazy days sometimes, but I’m just afraid things like plates, and other kitchen stuff will fall off from my hand because I don’t have a good grip anymore.

So what is carpal tunnel syndrome anyway? Well according to this website carpal tunnel syndrome is a painful disorder of the wrist and hand. The carpal tunnel is a narrow tunnel formed by the bones and other tissues of your wrist. This tunnel protects your median nerve. The median nerve gives you feeling in your thumb, and index, middle and ring fingers. But when other tissues in the carpal tunnel, such as ligaments and tendons, get swollen or inflamed, they press against the median nerve. That pressure can make part of your hand hurt or feel numb.

No wonder when I couldn’t bare the pain anymore I just want to have a carpal tunnel relief because its really getting into my nerve already, so I finally did what my obstetrician had told me to do, use a smart glove and it surely help me. I cant imagine going through my day without my glove anymore.

As I was browsing the photos that I save from my external hard drive, I was a bit astounded to see that there were already thousand’s of them, I know I had a lot of photos already stored in there but didn’t really thought that its going to be that much ( when I said much, that means thousand’ zzzz of them) . Well that’s because I’m a pictuholic. While browsing or shall I say looking back to “Memory Lane” I can’t help but wonder and be thankful to the creator for all the things we’ve been through and memories that me and my husband had shared. And to the new found friendship here the US. Anyway before being to emotional here, I just wanted to share this family picture of mine taken at the Yosemite National Park 2006. Place was really awesome its like a paradise. Hopefully we will be able to go back there one day next year. I hope.

I think we’ve come to an era, were loosing weight the natural way without the help of diet pills, surgical procedure’s and other weight lost product is almost next to impossible. Though I believed that loosing weight in a usual way like exercise and watching what you’re eating is still the best thing to go for. You can’t go wrong with that. Although I’m not against to those people who have gone under the knife to attained their desired weight. And people who had been using diet pills to help assist their weight problem. For me, although there are a lot of products out there claiming that they are the best diet pills there is in the market, still there’s always uncertainty in my mind about the affectivity and safety of these medicines. I heard a lot of stories about this diet pills, good and bad. But then again, I just hope that people who had been using them and we will be using them should take extra careful and learn to be conscientious on what your putting into your own body. After all, its our own body that we wanted to look and feel good about.

Busy, tiring but fun day

It was a pretty long day yesterday, I brought my son to his pediatrician for his Eye check-up , good thing everything is ok. Since we get done at around 4:20 pm at the doctor’s office and I will be meeting my hubby at his work at around 5:30 pm so I decided to go to the Filipino store to pick up some fresh veggies, since its Tuesday, the guy working there says Wednesday is their delivery day. So I just bought suman sa gata (sticky rice cooked in coconut milk) and kalamansi. As I was heading back to the casino where my hubby is working, I saw a pretty big and dark smoke in the sky, coming from the direction where im going, got a little nervous because there’s a lot of business establishment on that area and I also called Paul just to be sure that he is aware of the pretty big smoke coming within their area. So when I get hold of him and told him about what I saw, he said it’s coming from the small motel/hotel next to them. But its already contained by the firefighters because when im almost near the casino’s I couldn’t see the black smoke anymore and I can just hear sirens from the fire trucks. At first I was a little bit hesitant to park at circus circus casino because im afraid that there will be a lot of traffic and road will probably be closed because of the fire. But thank God nothing like that. And the fire was controlled before it will create a big damage. But anyway after meeting with my hubby we all went to Kohls department store for shopping. After more than or almost 2hours at the store I was amazed with the stuff that we bought for the price that we paid. Its all so worthy. That’s why I keep telling my hubby, that I just love your clearances here.. and to show you the facts here are some of the pictures taken enjoy..

Jennylyn Mercado was rush to the hospital

Young actress Jennylyn Mercado who is 8months pregnant was brought to the hospital July 27 (Philippine time). According to her OB-GYN Dr. Judy Ann Uy-de Luna the young actress complained of Uterine Contraction two days ago which according to the Dr. Judy Ann is what you called a Preterm Labor. Jen as fondly called was already given medicine to stop the contraction. Since she’s only 8months pregnant so there’s a possibility that the baby will be born pre-mature since her expected due date is August 22. According also to her OB-GYNE that Jennylyn’s conditions can be consider a high risk pregnancy.

Hi guys, so we finally made it to Idaho and we just got back last night. It was just an overnight trip we left Friday around noon because we still have to pick up the rental car in Reno airport that morning and drove to Idaho for 7hours. When we arrived in Idaho at my sister in law’s house hubby transfer all our stuff from the rental car to the other car for they wanted to return the rental car that very same night. The reason for this is that, The airport in Twin Falls Idaho will be having an air show the following day which is Saturday and the place will be mob with people and it will be hard for us to return the rental that day so my sister in law doesn’t want to put us on that situation so might as well returned it that Friday. Good thing we did because according to Sam (my sister in law’s grand daughter) that the place was pack with people, though they did enjoy the air show saw the angels and stuff like that but they got sun burn. Opps that’s not good.. so to you guys who wants to spend some time out doors don’t forget to put your lotions..

I called the car rental company which I wont mentioned names anymore few days ago. After talking to hubby about their asking priced and after checking airfare to Twin Falls Idaho for a one way ticket, we end up thinking and weighing our choices as to which way were really going for. But now, I think im pretty much sure were going to take a car rental to Idaho. Well I know I mentioned in my other entry that its way to expensive, but instead of 2days rent, were only going to do it to 1day and that really saves us a lot of money. So that means, 3 of us can still go to Idaho. Unlike if my hubby decided to fly then I may have to bring him to the airport and his the one who will go to Idaho. Thank God, for giving us the patience and not rushing to any kind of decision…

Were supposed to go to Idaho end of this month, but I told hubby if we could change it and instead go there next weekend, that’s Friday and Saturday for us. So he said yes and its ok so we planned on taking a rental car, but after making some few calls to the car rental company today (which I wont mention names anymore) we decided not to use their service anymore. Its way to expensive didn’t realize that it will cost that much for a two days rental and were gonna pick it up here in Reno and dropped it on Twin Falls Idaho. Since car rental is expensive I decided to checked the airlines ticket (one way) from Reno to Twin Falls also and it cost less rather than taking the car rental. And I told hubby about our two options, so we are still weighing our choices. Men everything is so expensive now, couldn’t wait to find out also myself about the prices of commodities back home. I hope its really not that bad…

Went to Laura Park in Fallon Nevada today for friend’s birthday. The birthday celebrant decided to have it in the park for changed in scenery. And I think it was a good idea for the kids were also having so much fun together. And not only today was the celebration of my friend’s birthday but my son also turned 10 months old today. As much as we can we try to celebrate it every month with a simple cake or whatever that is available for souvenir, its just our way of showing how grateful and thankful we are for having a wonderful son and every month is a milestone for us. And were just so happy about it.

50 POUNDS OR 23 KILOS LIMIT PER PIECE OF CHECKED-IN BAGGAGE TO AND FROM USA (INCLUDING GUAM) AND CANADA

Following the lead of most airlines flying trans-Pacific routes, Philippine Airlines will start implementing for all tickets issued or re-issued starting 01 July 2008 a limit of 50 pounds (23 kilos) for each of the two pieces of free baggage on flights to and from the United States, including Guam and Canada. The Civil Aeronautics Board approved the reduction of the baggage allowance last 12 June 2008.

Tickets issued before 01 July 2008- but for travel from 01 July 2008 onward - still entitle passenger to the erstwhile free baggage weight limit of 70 pounds (32 kilos) per piece.

PAL is constrained to take this step as a consequence of record-high fuel prices that have adversely impacted the airline industry worldwide. The International Air Transport Association has forecast a massive global industry lost of $6.1 billion for 2008. In response, most major carriers have reduced free baggage allowance or imposed new fees for checked baggage as a way of easing operational cost.

The 50-pound limit allows smoother connections for PAL passengers traveling to and from interior points in the U.S. and Canada, where domestic flights have already applied the new weight cap. Also, most U.S. carriers have limited free checked baggage allowance to only one piece, while some have eliminated it altogether, charging $15 for the first checked bag and $25 for the second.

Note: As part of the Elite level privileges, Mabuhay Miles Premier Elite members and Million Milers can carry one (1) extra piece of luggage (not exceeding to 50 pounds or 23 kilos) when flying to and from the USA (including Guam) and Canada on Philippine Airlines.

Lesson Learned it is...

Yesterday was Friday and hubby is off from work, so we went to Fallon DMV about 20miles east from where we live. We decided to go there for hubby is going to renew our car registration and Fallon DMV is really not that busy at all unlike if were goin to Reno DMV where you have to wait for hours. I was already there last Wednesday trying to request a duplicate for our car registration but wasn’t successful at all, its because my name wasn’t on the title when we purchased our car 2years ago, I decided not to include my name that time for I don’t want them to check on my credit history. But anyway lesson learned is that since hubby is working and Im a stayed at home mom so better include your name as much as you can next time so you don’t have to wait for hubby to do these things. So that you'll be able to spend more quality time among yourselves during hubby's day off from work. Besides since I’m already driving this stuff would be much easier next time.
